St. Valentine's Story.

1. Valentine was a priest. He lived in Rome during the 3rd Century AD.
2. The Emperor Claudius wanted to have a big army, but the people didn't want to go to war and leave their families.
3. Claudius prohibited marriage.
4. Valentine married people in secret.
5. One night, he was arrested and sent to prison.
6. He had many visitors. One special visitor was the prison's guard daughter. They were friends.
7. On the day he died, Valentine sent her a special note.
8. Every 14th February, we remember Valentine and we exchange notes about love and friendship.
